Session 1: August 28, September 4, 11, 18 & 25, October 2, 9 & 16

Discover the inspiring stories and creative journeys of remarkable women artists throughout history in this engaging, hands-on art class. Each session will highlight a different female artist, exploring her life, artistic style, and the impact she made on the world of art. Students will begin each class by learning about the featured artist through an age-appropriate video and guided discussion. Together, we’ll explore the artist’s work, talk about what they notice, how the artwork makes them feel, and what stories or ideas they see within each piece.

After learning about the artist’s techniques and creative approach, students will use their own imagination and artistic voice to create a unique project inspired by the featured artist. They’ll experiment with different materials, styles, and ideas while discovering that art is not just about creating something beautiful, but also about expressing who they are. This class encourages creativity, confidence, curiosity, and a deeper appreciation for the many women who have shaped the art world.
