Even More Going On at The Muse
In addition to our art and movement classes found on our Calendar page, Create & Sip gatherings, Music Events, and monthly Signature Art Events, on occasion there’s even more you should be aware of! Sometimes a non-profit organization hosts live music in our gallery space. At other times, someone pitches a different kind of unique idea we just can’t pass up. So we’re launching this page to make a space for telling you about happenings that don’t quite fit into the “standard” boxes fulfilled by the pages we mentioned above.

Tyler will guide you through creating a beautiful flower arrangement using fresh seasonal blooms while sharing tips and tricks for arranging flowers like a pro. Whether you're a flower enthusiast or just looking for a fun afternoon out, this class is all about creativity, connection, and bringing a little beauty home with you.

The Marshall Muse Mahjong Nights
September 15th, October 20th | 5–8 PM
An evening of Mahjong, art, conversation, wine, nibbles and community at The Marshall Muse Gallery.
Arrive early to mingle, explore the gallery, and enjoy charcuterie nibbles, chocolate bites, and refreshments before open play begins at 6 PM. Whether you’re a seasoned player or simply looking for a fun night out, Mahjong Nights are designed to bring people together through laughter, connection, friendly competition, and beautiful surroundings.

ArtStock Studio Tour

ArtStock Studio Tour is an artist alliance that holds the longest running organized event in the Guilford county area where artists invite the public, collectors, and curators into their private workspaces to view, discuss, and purchase art directly. ArtStock fosters community connections, allowing artists to showcase their creative process, and provide a behind-the-scenes look at how art is made, ranging from home studios to group studios and co-op locations.

Join artist Felicia Brown - locally known as an award-winning massage therapist and former owner of Balance Day Spa and A to Zen Massage - as she reveals her process behind turning former display mannequin torsos into the fun, colorful, contemporary 3- dimensional paintings she lovingly calls her "Love Army."
“Secrets to Creativity and Inspiration”

Do you ever wonder what fires up an artist’s brain, gets her going ... drawing, designing, and painting? Join Alexis Lavine, a noted watercolor painter with national recognition for her work, to learn some of her “secrets”, as she unlocks her imagination for you. Along with that, she will talk about her many years of creating art and learning how to tame and utilize watercolor, the most fickle and unpredictable of all painting mediums! Alexis will show you lots of examples, tell you interesting stories, and present a brief painting demo, so you can experience the magic of watercolor happening right in front of you!
Alexis will also have a special selection of watercolors with her, for a special one-day-only opportunity to see and purchase them.

Murder at The Muse: An Immersive Murder Mystery
Saturday, October 10 | 6:00 - 9:00 PM

It's 1926, and The Marshall Muse Gallery is unveiling a "rediscovered" masterpiece, The Midnight Muse. Prosecco is poured, secrets are simmering, and before the night is over, someone in the room won't make it home.
Guests spend the evening moving freely through the gallery's real studios, creating Art Deco keepsakes, meeting a cast of 1920s characters, and piecing together clues hidden throughout the building. When the murder happens, the investigation begins, and you may find you've only solved half the story.
Your ticket includes:
A welcome glass of Prosecco or sparkling mocktail
Light dinner, hors d'oeuvres style, throughout the evening
Three (3) hands-on Art Deco creative stations, and yes, you take everything home:
A jeweled compact mirror, decorate a round compact with Art Deco geometrics and a scattering of rhinestones
Your 1920s calling card, hand-letter your society name in metallic pen and wax-seal it shut. Wear it all evening, it doubles as your character identity for the mystery
Your own "lost masterpiece," paint a pre-printed outline of The Midnight Muse, the very painting at the center of tonight's scandal, for display in a pop-up 1926 Salon
A fully interactive murder mystery, with more than one crime to solve
Prizes for top investigators, best character, best dressed, and best calling card
Full access to the gallery for the entire event
Costumes are highly encouraged, but never required. Think Art Deco, 1920’s, and a glamorous evening at an elegant art gallery.

Want to play a starring role? Fifteen spots are available, first come, first serve. No acting experience required, just a willingness to keep a secret or two and to play your part for the whole evening (the story plays from 7:30 - 8:30 PM). We highly recommend dressing as your character if possible. We will contact you with your character’s information. Those with a character role will receive a $15 discount.
"Understanding the Business Side of Being an Artist"

The Marshall Muse Gallery is pleased to sponsor and host a business workshop for artists and creatives led by Scott Rempe. This informative session will cover key topics including Sales and Marketing, Pricing and Questioning Strategies, Networking, and Social Media & Websites. Designed specifically for creative professionals, the workshop will help participants build confidence, strengthen negotiation skills, and develop meaningful, mutually beneficial relationships with clients.
Scott is an illustrator and coach for artists and creatives. His work includes corporate clients and non-profits. Client projects include Graphic Recording (visual summaries for conferences and keynote speakers), corporate illustrations, packaging label art, and requested commissions. Scott spent over thirty years in sales and marketing in the Direct Marketing industry. During this time, he worked in both Corporate America and with small businesses, including advertising agencies and non-profits. His coaching for artists and creatives includes in person workshops, online webinars, Lunch and Learns and One on One coaching.
As part of our commitment to supporting the creative community, The Marshall Muse Gallery is donating the workshop space for this event. All proceeds from registrations will go directly to Scott.
Note: This is a 2 day workshop. Lunch will be provided afterwards on the second day.
