Friends for an Earlier Breast Cancer Test® is the nation's only nonprofit breast cancer organization focused solely on identifying an earlier detection test for breast cancer. Our mission is to identify a biological test that will detect breast cancer at its earliest stages. Since our inception in 1995, earlier.org has awarded nearly $5.5 million to fund seed grants at prestigious institutions across the country and around the world.
Make your second Saturday an art-filled adventure! Join us every Second Saturday for a day of community, creativity, and connection at The Marshall Muse Gallery! Our family-friendly programming invites you to bring the kids, meet your neighbors, and enjoy hands-on fun in a welcoming space.
Kids can get creative at our interactive My Muse Station, explore seasonal activities, and take part in special workshops and pop-up surprises. Each month, we’ll also highlight a local nonprofit, giving you and your family a chance to learn more, get involved, and give back to causes making a difference in our community. Please join M. Paige Wagner for a reading and Q&A session on Saturday, November 14th, at 1:30 pm at the Marshall Muse Gallery to learn about her debut novel, Standing in Her Own Light.
This captivating novel takes readers on a journey through the aftermath of the death of Sarah’s estranged friend, Vivian Rhinhardt. Following this disturbing loss, Sarah uncovers her own inner strength despite years of subtle oppression. While closing the estate, she discovers Vivian’s journals, which reveal unsettling family secrets.
Paige has been teaching for 37 years, and she is currently an adjunct professor of anatomy and physiology at North Carolina A&T. Although she has been deeply rooted in the sciences for most of her career, she started writing about 12 years ago, which culminated in a novel, Standing in Her Own Light. She grew up in the foothills of North Carolina and based her story on real life experiences. Today, she lives with her partner of 30 years in Greensboro, and has three adult children, a daughter and twin sons. She continues to write, and is now focusing on her second novel based on the journals left behind by her deceased brother. He wanted his story told.
