“Light & Shadow”
Emerging from the Quiet of Winter

Description:

Illuminating the Ineffable
Ray Martin
- Comunity Gallery

Description:
In this exhibition, the artist invites viewers into a world where mystery, awe, and beauty converge. Drawing from a rich palette of materials and techniques, the work unfolds through two intertwined processes. At times, paintings emerge directly from the landscape, in oils or watercolor, capturing the rhythms, movements, and fleeting colors of nature. At other times, the artist constructs allegorical reliquaries through bricolage, assembling disparate objects into new juxtapositions that spark fresh meaning and interpretation. Across all mediums, the work seeks to illuminate the ineffable, the emotions and experiences that elude language. Guided by the ancient roles of the earliest shaman-artists, the artist engages deeply in the acts of creation, teaching, and healing, offering each viewer a space for reflection, wonder, and connection.
