Are you looking for the ultimate summer camp experience for your child in Greensboro, NC? At The Marshall Muse Gallery, we go above and beyond to make sure every child feels inspired, engaged, and excited about creating art!

Our camps aren’t just about making art, though. They’re also about exploring, experimenting, and expressing in a fun, safe, and energetic environment. Led by our enthusiastic and talented instructors, campers will dive into a world of creativity, art history, and hands-on projects that allow them to think outside the box.

Summer Art Camps: The Basics

Get ready for a summer full of creativity, exploration, and hands-on fun at The Marshall Muse Gallery’s Summer Art Camps! Each week, young artists will dive into exciting projects tailored to their age group and skill level while exploring different art techniques.

We Offer Camps for:

  • Ages 6–11: Playful, hands-on experiences that introduce various techniques and skill levels in a fun and supportive way.

  • Ages 10 and up: More in-depth projects that challenge students and foster artistic confidence.

  • Advanced Camp (Ages 10 and up): A specialized camp for serious young artists who want to create multi-day, detailed projects using mixed media, fine art techniques, and unique materials.

Each camp runs Monday through Friday 4hrs daily and is filled with exciting, high-quality projects that kids take home every day! $275.00 per child per camp.

Art & Craft
June 15 – June 19
9am - 1pm
6-11 yrs

This camp is perfect for kids who love to make things with their hands and enjoy variety. Campers will explore fun, age-appropriate crafting techniques including painting, sculpture, simple fiber arts, and mixed media projects.
Each day features multiple projects, allowing younger campers to stay engaged while experimenting with materials in creative and playful ways. This camp encourages imagination, problem-solving, and pride in finished pieces, all in a supportive, low-pressure environment.

Draw it!
June 22 – June 26
9am - 1pm
6-11 yrs

Designed for young artists who love to draw and are ready to level up, this camp focuses on strong drawing fundamentals and technique development. Each day explores different materials including graphite, charcoal, ink, and pastel, along with more intentional approaches to composition.
Campers will practice sight-drawing, perspective, proportion, and shading, working on both miniature studies and larger finished pieces. Whether sketching from life or creating imaginative scenes, this camp helps artists build skill, confidence, and a deeper understanding of how drawings come together.

Altered Book & Mixed Media Sketchbook Camp
June 22 – June 26

Ages 10 -15 yrs

This immersive camp invites young artists to transform an old book into a one-of-a-kind mixed media sketchbook they can continue using long after camp ends. Throughout the week, campers will repurpose, prepare, and build their own art journal, turning each page into a creative surface. Artists will learn how to prep and prime pages for mixed media and explore a new technique each day, including painting, collage, layering, printmaking, mark-making, and experimental materials. Campers will work directly in their altered books, learning how to combine techniques and develop a personal visual style.
This camp is ideal for kids who enjoy process-driven art, storytelling, and working thoughtfully over multiple days. By the end of the week, each camper will leave with a fully prepared and partially completed sketchbook, along with the skills and inspiration to keep creating in it throughout the year.

Build It! Sculpture & 3D Art Camp
June 29 – July 3

Ages 10 -15 yrs

This hands-on camp is all about building, shaping, and creating in three dimensions. Designed for artists who love to work with their hands, campers will explore fun, tactile materials such as air-dry clay, model magic, cardboard, found objects, and simple building materials. Projects will include clay creations, playful sculptures, LEGO-inspired builds, and imaginative 3D art pieces, with opportunities to paint and decorate finished works. This camp emphasizes creativity, problem-solving, and exploration while keeping projects engaging, approachable, and fun.

Paint-Paint-Paint
July 6 – July 10

Ages 6-11 yrs

This color-filled adventure is designed for young painters who love to explore and experiment. Campers will work with watercolor, acrylics, and pastels, creating fun and expressive artwork while learning how paint behaves on different surfaces.
Projects include spin art, mixed media, stencils, and playful brushwork, allowing kids to explore texture, layering, and color mixing in a hands-on way. This camp emphasizes creativity, confidence, and joy while gently introducing strong painting foundations.

Art & Movement Camp
July 13 – July 17

Ages 6-11 yrs

This joyful, high-energy camp combines art-making with movement and dance, giving younger campers a chance to create, move, and express themselves in multiple ways. Each day balances hands-on art projects with guided movement, creative dance, and playful expression.
Campers may create artwork inspired by music and motion, design props or costumes, and explore rhythm, storytelling, and imagination through both movement and art. This camp supports creativity, confidence, and body awareness in a fun, encouraging environment.

Process & Perspective Camp
July 13 – July 17

Ages 10 -15 yrs

Designed for older artists who enjoy thinking deeply about their work, this camp explores artistic process, observation, and creative decision-making.
Campers will work through layered projects involving experimentation, revision, and reflection using drawing, painting, collage, and mixed media. Emphasis is placed on “why” choices matter and how artists develop ideas over time.

Advanced Mixed Media Camp
July 20 – July 24
9am - 1pm
Ages 10 -15 yrs

This immersive camp is designed for focused, motivated young artists ready to work beyond the basics. Campers will concentrate on multi-day projects that require planning, patience, and attention to detail.
Artists will explore layered mixed-media techniques, including intricate collage, textured surfaces, 3D elements, printmaking, assemblage, and experimental painting. Rather than completing many small projects, campers will focus on one or two larger works, developing creative problem-solving skills and a deeper connection to their process.

Bling & All the Shiny Things Camp
July 27 – July 31
9am - 1pm
Ages 6-11 yrs

This camp is all about sparkle, shimmer, and shine! Campers will create glittering, metallic, and bejeweled art pieces while making imaginative projects like fairy crowns, shiny sculptures, metallic paintings, and decorative accessories.
Perfect for kids who love a bright, magical aesthetic, this camp encourages creativity and self-expression while exploring fun materials and textures in an age-appropriate, playful way.

Art & Science Camp
August 3 – August 7
9am - 1pm
Ages 6-11 yrs

This hands-on camp combines creativity and curiosity, blending art-making with simple science concepts and experiments. Campers will explore how science and art intersect through projects that involve movement, structure, experimentation, and cause-and-effect.
Activities may include kinetic sculptures, balance and motion builds, printmaking experiments, material testing, texture studies, and process-based projects that encourage observation and problem-solving. Campers will learn how artists and scientists both experiment, revise, and explore the world around them.
Perfect for kids who love asking “how does this work?” and enjoy building, experimenting, and thinking creatively across disciplines.

Art, Writing and Movement Camp
August 3 – August 7

Ages 10 -15 yrs

This camp blends visual art and creative writing into a thoughtful, expressive experience for young artists and storytellers. Campers will explore how images and words work together, using drawing, painting, collage, and mixed media as inspiration for writing.
Throughout the week, campers will create artwork that sparks stories, poems, short narratives, and journaling, while also learning simple writing prompts, storytelling techniques, and ways to express ideas visually and verbally. Projects may include illustrated stories, character development, visual poetry, and art-based journaling. In addition to visual art and creative writing, campers will explore mindful movement each day with Melissa. Through gentle yoga, guided reflection, and meditation, students will learn how movement and stillness can support creativity, emotional awareness, and self-expression. These daily practices help campers slow down, tune in, and connect more deeply to their creative work. This camp is ideal for kids who love to imagine, tell stories, reflect, and create meaning through both art and words, whether they consider themselves writers, artists, or both.

Create a World Camp
August 10 – August 14
9am - 1pm
Ages 6-11 yrs

Campers will build an imaginary world from the ground up, designing landscapes, creatures, homes, and stories through drawing, sculpture, painting, and mixed media. Each day adds a new layer to their world, encouraging imagination, collaboration, and storytelling. Ideal for kids who love fantasy, pretend play, and imaginative thinking.

  • Freedom to Create – We encourage kids to expand on their own ideas, experiment, and make their art truly their own, no cookie-cutter projects here!

  • Art History & Inspiration – We sprinkle in exciting stories about famous artists and movements to help young artists connect with the past while creating something new.

  • Monday Gallery Tour – Campers get an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at our professional gallery, seeing artwork by local artist up close!

  • Fun & Messy – We believe art should be joyful, hands-on, and sometimes even a little messy, because that’s where the magic happens!

  • 4 hrs of Creativity & Exploration Daily – Perfect for parents who need time to work, run errands, or enjoy a well-deserved break while their child has a blast.

  • Outdoor Play – Because fresh air and a little movement make creative minds even sharper!

  • Select camps incorporate dance and movement activities, such as age-appropriate yoga.

  • Tie-Dye T-shirt & Popsicle Fridays for fun! We encourage kids to wear their tie-dye t-shirt they made early in the week to camp on Fridays for photos, popsicles and extra outdoor fun. Art Show, Friday is also our art show where the kids get to show off all of their hard work. Plan to come in at pick up, take a look at all they created and take advantage of our photo op areas.
