Music for a Great Space began as Greensboro residents Henry and Lucy Ingram were involved in the installation of the Fisk Op. 82 organ housed at their home church, Christ United Methodist (CUMC). Fisk organ builders told them as the installation went on that this instrument was special and should be featured not just as a religious but also a concert instrument. So Henry and Lucy began the process of starting a concert series. Over time the series developed to include other instruments and ensembles and to include education as an essential part of the organization.
