This 4-week class explores a variety of creative techniques through hands-on experimentation with mixed media. Each week we will focus on a different approach, including collage, paper weaving, artist books and printmaking. Through guided projects and open-ended exploration, the class encourages creativity at all skill levels, offering both structure and freedom to experiment with materials in a new way.

Plein Air Painting with Craig Richards Ages 16+

This class is the fun one that is different than anything you’ve done before. Like the French Impressionists we will take easels and paints into the great outdoors. Students will learn skills to make outdoor painting comfortable and filled with insights. Through classroom demonstrations and exercises students will be shown all they need to know to comfortably paint outdoors, followed by several trips to beautiful locations where they will be guided to create paintings filled with light and beauty.

Course Outline:

Week 1: Lecture on Paints and Supplies, setting up portable easels, and how to find and sketch classic compositions.

Weeks 2-4: We will meet at various beautiful locations. Students will be guided by instructor led demonstration paintings and taught the use of tools with personalized direction for painting outdoors. Students will create one painting per class in the outdoors.

Gouache Glow: The Beauty of Opaque Watercolor with Suzanne Miller Ages 16+

Explore the velvety world of gouache in this beginner friendly class focused on painting with opaque watercolor. You will learn simple techniques for layering, blending and color mixing while creating finished pieces. You will find out why artists love gouache's bold color and forgiving nature and leave with skills and artwork you can be proud of. All supplies provided. No prior experience necessary.

Creating Mixed-Media Botanical Collages with Joanne Rich Ages 16+

Summer Session 1 ($95): May 23rd, 30th & June 6th, 13th

Saturdays, 2:00 - 4:00 PM

All levels welcome

This 4-class Beginner Friendly Mixed Media Collage Series will explore mixed-media collage styles and techniques in making colorful botanical collages. We will discuss using a variety of collage supplies and materials and where you can find them. We will also look at some of my favorite botanical artists, and the techniques they use, including painting paper, stamping, stenciling, and layering.

You will learn the skills and techniques for creating colorful hand-painted collage paper using watercolors, acrylics, pastels, etc., and different types of paper. to make colorful botanical collages. You will also be able to add photos and ephemera to your botanical collage. At the end of the class, you will have created several mixed-media botanical collages and will have the skills and knowledge to create similar collages at home on your own.

Creating Mixed-Media Landscape Cityscape Collage Series with Joanne Rich Ages 16+

Summer Session 3 ($95): July 18th, 25th & August 1st & 8th

Saturdays, 2:00 - 4:00 PM

All levels welcome

This 4-class Beginner Friendly Mixed Media Collage Series will explore a variety of collage styles and techniques for creating your own mixed media landscape /cityscape collages. I will show you the techniques that I use to create my own structural landscape collages, and we will also look at some of my favorite landscape artists, the techniques they use. Then you will create your own handpainted collage paper using watercolors, acrylics, pastels, etc., and different types of paper. You will also be able to combine your paper with magazine photos, ephemera, and other materials to add to your own landscapes. You will leave the class having created several original 2-D mixed-media landscape collages and will have the skills and knowledge to create similar collages at home on your own.

All supplies provided. No prior experience necessary.

Weekly Sunday Classes:

Photography with Maria Sollecito Ages 16+

Session 4: April 12th-May 24th (No class May 17th)

Sundays, 2:00 - 4:00 PM

Book a 6 class package, $100

In this 6-week photography class, you’ll move beyond Auto mode and learn how to confidently use your camera in Manual. We’ll cover exposure (aperture, shutter speed, ISO), composition, natural light, and beginner-friendly editing techniques.

Each week includes hands-on practice and guided assignments so you can apply what you’re learning right away. You’ll photograph real subjects, receive feedback, and build a small portfolio by the end of the course.

You won’t just learn the technical side of photography — you’ll gain the confidence to create meaningful, beautiful images on purpose.
